Typed your name into a search engine and found your home address on ZabaSearch? The ZabaSearch opt out is free. The route starts with the small print on your own ZabaSearch page: if its privacy link leads to Intelius, you use the Intelius opt out, which is the route third party removal guides describe. You can do it yourself, or Removal Lab can check the page and handle the ZabaSearch opt out for you.
We want to be straight with you about one thing. ZabaSearch blocked our checker. None of the official records we opened name the company behind it. So this guide shows you how to confirm who runs the page in front of you, then which route fits. That is slower than a one line answer, but it will not send you to the wrong form.
The quick version: ZabaSearch opt out
- Search ZabaSearch for your name, open the result that is you and save its address and a screenshot.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and note the company named in the small print and any privacy or opt out link.
- If those point to Intelius, follow the Intelius opt out: open your profile, use Do Not Sell My Personal Information or Suppress My Data, select the profile and submit.
- If they point to another company, use that company’s own opt out and keep a record of what you sent.
- Search ZabaSearch and Intelius again after a few days, then clear the old Google result. Or send the links to Removal Lab for a free check.
ZabaSearch opt out at a glance
Each answer says where it comes from. Where no official page says something, we say that instead of guessing.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Did ZabaSearch load for our check? | No. The site blocked our checker, so we could not read its pages, its privacy policy or its opt out screens. |
| Who runs it? | Not confirmed by any official page we could open. PeopleConnect’s brand list and its list of sister sites do not include ZabaSearch. |
| Is it on the California registry? | We did not find ZabaSearch under its own name in the registry files we could read. |
| What do third party guides say? | Several privacy removal guides describe ZabaSearch as powered by Intelius and send readers to the Intelius opt out. They are not official sources. |
| Does it cost anything? | The FTC says you can opt out of people search sites yourself for free. |
| What should I do first? | Read the small print on your own ZabaSearch page before any ZabaSearch opt out. It tells you which company and which form you are dealing with. |
How to opt out of ZabaSearch step by step
Step 1. Find and record your listing
Search ZabaSearch for your full name. Open the result that is clearly you, copy the page address and take a screenshot. The FTC suggests searching people search sites by phone number and address as well, because they often hold more than one record for the same person. Record each one before your ZabaSearch opt out.
Step 2. Read the small print at the bottom of the page
Scroll to the foot of the page. Note the company name in the copyright line or legal text, the privacy policy link and any link about selling or suppressing your data. This is the single most useful step in a ZabaSearch opt out, because it tells you who actually holds the record and which form is the right one.
Step 3. If it points to Intelius, use the Intelius route
Intelius, LLC told the California registry that a consumer can opt out by visiting its sites, clicking the Do Not Sell My Personal Information or Suppress My Data link at the bottom of the page, selecting the specific person profile and submitting an opt out request for that profile. It names intelius.com, ussearch.com and pro.ussearch.com, plus other similar people search websites the company owns and operates.
It does not name ZabaSearch. So we cannot say from that record alone whether a request made on Intelius also clears ZabaSearch. Start from whichever page your ZabaSearch link opens and check both sites afterwards. Our Intelius opt out guide and US Search opt out guide walk through the same route.
Step 4. Use email or phone if the Intelius route fails
The Intelius registration lists (888) 245 1655 and support@mailer.intelius.com for privacy requests. Its latest registry entry we could read lists 877 564 3253. Put the ZabaSearch page address in every ZabaSearch opt out message so support can see exactly which listing you mean.
Step 5. If it points somewhere else, use that company’s route
If the small print names a different company, use that company’s own opt out page or privacy contact. If you live in California, you can also make a deletion request under the CCPA, set out further down. Keep the date, a copy of what you sent and every reply for your ZabaSearch removal file.
Step 6. Check again
No official page we could open gives a timing for a ZabaSearch opt out. Search ZabaSearch and Intelius again after a few days, which is our suggestion rather than a stated rule. Repeat the request for any listing that is still there.
Who is behind ZabaSearch? What we could and could not confirm
Many guides state the owner of ZabaSearch in one line. We checked every official source we could reach before writing this ZabaSearch opt out guide. None of them confirmed it. Here is what each one said.
| Source we opened | What it says about ZabaSearch |
|---|---|
| The ZabaSearch website | Blocked our checker |
| The PeopleConnect website | Lists Classmates, OmniWatch, Intelius, TruthFinder, US Search and Instant Checkmate. No ZabaSearch |
| The PeopleConnect privacy policy | Names TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, Intelius, US Search and Classmates as sister sites. No ZabaSearch |
| The Intelius registration with California | Names intelius.com, ussearch.com and pro.ussearch.com plus other similar sites the company owns and operates. Does not name ZabaSearch |
| The CalPrivacy registry files | No entry under the name ZabaSearch in the parts we could read |
| Third party removal guides | Describe ZabaSearch as powered by Intelius. Not an official source |
So the honest position is this. Third party guides tie ZabaSearch to Intelius, but we could not prove it from an official page. Your own ZabaSearch page is the quickest way to settle it, which is why step 2 matters so much for the ZabaSearch opt out.
ZabaSearch and the PeopleConnect sites
If your page does point to Intelius, your ZabaSearch opt out sits in the PeopleConnect family. PeopleConnect lists Intelius, US Search, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and Classmates as its brands. Intelius and US Search share one company and one opt out route. TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate are separate companies with their own registry entries and their own opt out pages.
| Site | Company in official records | Opt out route in official records | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intelius | Intelius, LLC | Do Not Sell My Personal Information or Suppress My Data link at the foot of your profile | Intelius opt out |
| US Search | Intelius, LLC, trading as US Search and US Search Pro | The same Intelius route, which names ussearch.com and pro.ussearch.com | US Search opt out |
| TruthFinder | TruthFinder, LLC | Its own opt out page or the same two homepage links | TruthFinder opt out |
| Instant Checkmate | Instant Checkmate, LLC | Its own opt out page or the same two homepage links | Instant Checkmate opt out |
| ZabaSearch | Not confirmed | Check who runs the page you see | This guide |
Plainly: a ZabaSearch opt out through Intelius would share the route in our Intelius and US Search guides. It would not reach TruthFinder or Instant Checkmate, which need their own requests.
Is ZabaSearch a background check you can be judged on?
We could not read ZabaSearch’s terms, so we cannot tell you its own position. Intelius, LLC told the California registry that neither it nor its subsidiaries is regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, but that answer covers Intelius, LLC, not a site we could not tie to it.
The FTC’s summary of the FCRA sets the rules for real screening reports. If information in your file is used against you, you must be told and given the name, address and phone number of the agency that supplied it. You can dispute incomplete or inaccurate information with that agency, which must investigate unless the dispute is frivolous. If a landlord or employer turned you down, start there. Use the ZabaSearch opt out for the listing itself.
What the ZabaSearch opt out does and does not remove
- The listing you send the request for. That is what a ZabaSearch opt out is for.
- Public records. The FTC says opting out of people search sites does not delete your information from public records, which can still be found on government websites.
- Reports about relatives. The FTC warns your details may still show in the reports of relatives, neighbours or associates.
- Other people search sites. Each one needs its own request.
- Google. Google keeps its own copy until it updates or you ask it to.
Your rights in California: DROP and the CCPA
California residents have two routes on top of the ZabaSearch opt out.
- The CCPA. The California Attorney General says you can ask a business what it holds about you up to twice a year free of charge. You can also ask it to delete or correct your information or to stop selling or sharing it. Requests to know, delete and correct get an answer within 45 calendar days, with 45 more if the business tells you. Opt out requests must be handled within 15 business days at most. You can authorise someone to file for you.
- DROP. CalPrivacy’s free Delete Request and Opt out Platform sends one deletion request to over 600 registered data brokers. You confirm residency through the California Identity Gateway. Brokers must check DROP at least once every 45 days and your status can take up to 90 days to update.
- The limits. The Attorney General says publicly available information, including public property records, is not personal information under the CCPA. CalPrivacy says DROP does not reach public records such as vehicle or real estate ownership or voting records.
Is ZabaSearch on the registry? We did not find ZabaSearch under its own name in the CalPrivacy registry files we could read. If the small print on your page names Intelius, LLC, look that company up on the CalPrivacy registry instead. Intelius, LLC appears in the previous year’s registry file but was not in the current year’s download when we checked.
Other states have their own privacy laws. PeopleConnect’s own privacy policy, which covers its website rather than ZabaSearch, lists rights for residents of many states with an appeal by email under the subject line Privacy Rights Appeal. The ZabaSearch privacy policy did not load for our check, so we have not described its state by state rules.
How to clear the old Google result
Old ZabaSearch results can sit in Google for a while after a listing changes. Google says it can only remove things from Google Search results, so the ZabaSearch opt out always comes first.
- If the page has gone, refresh the old copy. Select Request refresh on Google’s Refresh outdated content help page, enter the old ZabaSearch address on the Page tab and select Submit. Our guide to the Refresh outdated content tool shows each screen.
- If the page is still live, use Results about you. Add your name, phone numbers, home addresses and email addresses, open the To review tab, expand the ZabaSearch result and select Request to remove. See how to use Google Results about you.
- If the page gathers lots of your details or comes with threats, use the personal information route. Google lists contact details, doxxing and a significant amount of aggregated personal info without a legitimate purpose. Read how to remove personal information from Google first.
Google tracks requests as In progress, Approved, Denied or Undone and warns there may be a delay between approval and the result going. Results from government sites, educational sites, online newspapers and business websites get no remove option.
If your listing comes back after a ZabaSearch opt out
The FTC says opting out does not delete public records, that your information could appear for sale again if those records change and that it may still show in the reports of relatives, neighbours or associates. Its advice is to check the sites again from time to time. Check Intelius at the same time, since third party guides tie the two sites together.
- Check every three months. That timing is our suggestion, not a ZabaSearch rule. Search your name, phone number and street.
- Check after any change. A move, a new phone line or a new public record can create a listing that looks new.
- Keep a record. Save the listing address, a screenshot, the date of each request and every email you get back.
Mistakes to avoid with a ZabaSearch opt out
- Skipping the small print. It is the only way we know to confirm who runs the page, so it comes first in every ZabaSearch opt out.
- Assuming one ZabaSearch opt out clears every site. Check ZabaSearch, Intelius and US Search separately, then TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate.
- Paying for help without asking questions. The FTC suggests asking a paid service how many sites it covers, whether it reports which sites it opted you out of and how often it rescans.
- Losing the paper trail. Keep screenshots, dates and every email for your ZabaSearch removal.
- Forgetting Google. A ZabaSearch opt out does not refresh Google’s copy.
A worked example
This is a made up example to show the steps. It is not a client case.
A graduate student in Austin finds her current flat on ZabaSearch. She saves the page address and a screenshot, then scrolls to the bottom and notes the company named in the small print and its privacy link.
She follows that link for her ZabaSearch opt out, selects her profile and submits the request. A week later she checks ZabaSearch and Intelius. Both are clear. Google still shows the old ZabaSearch title, so she uses the Refresh outdated content tool and sets a reminder to search again in three months.
When to ask for help
One ZabaSearch opt out is a job most people can finish in an evening. Help makes sense when your details sit on many sites, when a record keeps coming back or when someone is using your address to frighten you. Our data broker removal service maps the people search sites that show you and files each opt out. Our personal reputation removal service looks at every result for your name. If your address has been posted with threats, read our doxxing removal page first. Our guide on how to remove your name from Google explains what Google will take out of a name search.

Frequently asked questions
How do I opt out of ZabaSearch?
Open your ZabaSearch listing, read the small print at the bottom and follow its privacy or opt out link. If it leads to Intelius, select your profile and submit a Do Not Sell My Personal Information or Suppress My Data request, as Intelius describes in its California registration.
Who owns ZabaSearch?
We could not confirm it from an official page. ZabaSearch blocked our checker, PeopleConnect does not list it among its brands and the Intelius registration does not name it, although third party guides describe it as powered by Intelius.
Is ZabaSearch part of PeopleConnect?
Neither the PeopleConnect website nor its privacy policy lists ZabaSearch. Third party guides link it to Intelius, which PeopleConnect does list as one of its brands.
Is the ZabaSearch opt out free?
The FTC says you can opt out of people search sites yourself for free. No official page we could open mentions a ZabaSearch fee.
Does the Intelius opt out remove me from ZabaSearch?
Not confirmed. The Intelius registration covers intelius.com, ussearch.com, pro.ussearch.com and other similar sites the company owns and operates without naming ZabaSearch, so check ZabaSearch again after any Intelius request.
Is ZabaSearch on the California data broker registry?
We did not find it under its own name in the registry files we could read. If your page names Intelius, LLC, that company does appear in the previous year’s file.
How long does a ZabaSearch removal take?
No official page we could open gives a time. Search again after a few days and repeat the request for any listing still showing.
Can I remove myself from ZabaSearch by email?
We could not confirm a ZabaSearch email address. If your page points to Intelius, its registration lists support@mailer.intelius.com and (888) 245 1655 for privacy requests.
Does opting out of ZabaSearch delete my public records?
No. The FTC says opting out of people search sites does not delete your information from public records, which can still be found on government websites.
How do I get a ZabaSearch result out of Google?
Once the listing is gone, use Google’s Refresh outdated content tool on the old address. If it is still live, use Results about you to request removal of your contact details.
