Information we collect
Information you give us
When you complete an enquiry form on this website, we collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your telephone number;
- the URL or search result you ask us to review; and
- whatever you choose to tell us in the message field.
If you go on to correspond with us by email, telephone or messaging app, we collect the
contents of that correspondence and any information you provide in it. Where you ask us to
assess specific online content, that content may itself contain personal information about you
or about other people.
Information collected automatically
When you visit this website we automatically receive:
- your IP address;
- your browser type, device type and operating system;
- the pages you view, the time of your visit and how you arrived at the site; and
- advertising click identifiers, where you reached us from a Google advertisement.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses Google Tag Manager to load Google advertising tags. Specifically:
- Google Ads conversion tracking records that an enquiry was submitted
after a visit that began with one of our advertisements, so we can measure which
advertisements work. - Google Ads remarketing allows advertisements for our services to be
shown to you on other websites and services in Google’s network after you have visited
this site. - Google’s Conversion Linker stores advertising click information in
first-party cookies on this domain (cookies whose names begin_gcl) so that
a click can be connected to a later enquiry.
We do not run Google Analytics, Universal Analytics or Floodlight on this website, and we do
not use third-party advertising networks other than Google.
Your choices about cookies and advertising
- You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will
not prevent you from using this site or sending us an enquiry. - You can turn off personalised Google advertising at
adssettings.google.com. - You can opt out of Google Ads conversion measurement using the
Google opt-out browser add-on.
How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at
policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Why we use your information
We use personal information only for the following purposes:
- to respond to your enquiry and carry out the free assessment you have asked for;
- to provide our services, if you decide to engage us, and to communicate with you about
your case; - to invoice you and keep accounting records;
- to measure whether our advertising is working, and to show our advertisements to people
who have visited this site; - to maintain the security and proper operation of this website; and
- to comply with our legal obligations.
We do not use the information you send us to make automated decisions that produce legal or
similarly significant effects.
Consent
By submitting an enquiry form you consent to our collecting and using your information for
the purposes set out above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject
to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can
no longer provide you with a service.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s
marketing.
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who operate this website and our business on our
behalf, including our web hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and the
customer and case management systems we use. They may only use the information to
perform services for us. - Google, through the advertising tags described above, for advertising
measurement and remarketing. - Online platforms, where you have engaged us and it is necessary to
submit a dispute or report on your behalf. We tell you what will be submitted before we
submit it. - Professional advisers, authorities or courts, where we are required to
disclose information by law, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise or
defend legal claims. - A purchaser, if our business or part of it is sold or reorganised.
Where your information is held
The service providers we rely on to run this website and our business, including our web
hosting, email delivery and customer management providers, may store or process personal
information in the United States and in other countries outside Canada. If you are located in
Canada, your personal information may therefore be transferred outside your country of
residence.
While your information is held in another country, it is subject to the laws of that country
and may be accessible to that country’s courts, law enforcement and national security
authorities. We take reasonable steps to ensure our service providers protect personal
information to a comparable standard.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you and, where you become a
client, for the duration of our engagement and afterwards for as long as we need it to meet
legal, tax and accounting obligations, or to establish or defend legal claims. Enquiries that do
not lead to an engagement are deleted when they are no longer needed. You may ask us to delete
your information sooner and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

We use appropriate physical, organisational and technical safeguards to protect personal
information against loss, theft, unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use and modification.
