The UAE wide picture, including the cybercrime law articles on defamation and privacy, the personal data law and the police reporting channels, is on our page for review removal in Dubai and the UAE. This page covers what is different in the capital: Abu Dhabi’s own courts and consumer regulator, the separate data rules inside ADGM and the platforms local hotels, restaurants, clinics and garages rely on.
Review removal Abu Dhabi in one minute
Google, Tripadvisor and talabat each decide on their own rules. UAE law takes online insults and privacy seriously, which cuts both ways: an angry public reply can create risk for the business. So review removal Abu Dhabi work means quiet, evidence based reports through the platform, never threats and never fake praise.
Google review removal Abu Dhabi: the platforms that matter
A resort on Saadiyat lives on Google and Tripadvisor. A cloud kitchen in Khalifa City lives on talabat ratings. A car workshop in Mussafah or a clinic on Al Reem Island lives on Google. Each site has its own rule book, so every review removal Abu Dhabi case starts with the right rule on the right site. This is what each platform says in its own help pages.
| Platform | Who in Abu Dhabi relies on it | What it says | How to report and timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Every business with a Business Profile | Bans fake engagement, conflicts of interest, personal information and unsubstantiated allegations of criminal wrongdoing | Read reviews, Report, Send report. Typically several days. One appeal, up to 10 reviews | |
| Tripadvisor | Hotels, restaurants, attractions and tour operators | Treats owners reviewing competitors, incentives for reviews and pressure to remove a negative review as fraud | Report problem with review flag. Complaints researched within 48 hours |
| talabat | Restaurants, cafes and cloud kitchens | Customers can rate and review a previous order. Reviews are moderated | Its FAQ says reviews show within 24 hours and points to its terms. It describes no restaurant dispute route |
Booking sites matter for hotels too. Our Booking.com review removal page covers that route. Our Google review removal service page shows how we build Google reports.
Google in Arabic
Some owners in Abu Dhabi run their Business Profile in Arabic. Google’s Arabic help gives the same route as the English page. Open your profile and choose قراءة المراجعات (Read reviews). Next to the review choose إبلاغ (Report), pick the reason and select إرسال البلاغ (Send report). Track it in أداة إدارة المراجعات, the Reviews Management Tool, which also handles the one time appeal. Google says evaluation usually takes several days.
Google lists offensive content among the things it removes, including unsubstantiated allegations of unethical behaviour or criminal wrongdoing. It also says not to report a review just because you disagree with it. For review removal Abu Dhabi cases, quote the exact Arabic words that break the rule and put a plain English translation beside them. Do not pick the rule from a machine translation.
Tripadvisor for Yas and Saadiyat
Hotels and attractions on Yas Island and Saadiyat see guests from every country. Tripadvisor is where many of them write. Tripadvisor tells business owners to use the Report problem with review flag at the bottom of each review and says complaints are researched within 48 hours. It lists owners writing reviews of direct competitors, offering incentives for reviews and pressuring travellers to remove a negative review as fraud. So never offer a guest an upgrade to change a review. In review removal Abu Dhabi cases for hotels, the booking record is the first thing we ask about. Our Tripadvisor review removal page has the full route.
talabat for restaurants and cloud kitchens
For many Abu Dhabi restaurants, the review that matters most sits on talabat. Its UAE FAQ says customers can rate and write a review about a previous order from the My Orders tab. It says reviews are moderated and show on the restaurant section within 24 hours. It points to its terms for the full reviews policy. The FAQ does not describe a way for a restaurant to dispute a review, so raise any rule breaking review with talabat directly and keep your order records ready.
Most delivery complaints are genuine experiences: a late rider, a cold dish or a missing item. Those stay. A review that insults a named staff member or accuses the owner of a crime is a different matter. That is where review removal Abu Dhabi work on delivery platforms starts. Our page on review removal for restaurants and hotels covers hospitality more widely.
UAE law behind review removal Abu Dhabi cases
Platforms act on their own rules. UAE law shapes how a business should behave while it waits. Nothing here is legal advice. Removal Lab is not a law firm, so take any criminal or civil step with a UAE lawyer.
The cybercrime law cuts both ways
Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021 on Countering Rumours and Cybercrimes is published on the UAE legislation portal. Article 43 covers insulting someone, or attributing to them something that exposes them to punishment or contempt, through an information network. It sets imprisonment, a fine of AED 250,000 to AED 500,000 or both. Article 44 covers invading privacy. It includes publishing content with intent to harm someone even when the content is true.
The same law gives the authorities their own tools. It defines writs of correction and removal, which direct a person to correct, remove or delete illegal content or false data. Article 62 lets the competent authorities issue them when they verify that illegal content or false data is circulating. Article 63 gives the person three working days to file a grievance. These are state powers, not a service anyone can buy.
What this means for review removal Abu Dhabi clients is simple. A fake or abusive review may raise these articles. So may a furious reply that calls the reviewer a liar, guesses their name or shares their order details. Keep replies short and polite. Let the platform report do the work.
Consumer protection: what the law says and does not say
Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection lists consumer rights in Article 4, including true information about what they buy and fair, quick settlement of disputes. Article 17 bars describing products or services with false data or advertising them in a misleading way. The law gives the Ministry of Economy the job of receiving consumer complaints, working with each emirate’s local authority. It does not mention online reviews at all. For review removal Abu Dhabi purposes, that means the platform rules do most of the work.
In Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development says its Consumer Protection Section, part of the Commercial Protection Department, receives complaints about businesses it licenses. It lists 800555 as its number. A customer with a real complaint about goods has that route. A business that pays for praise to bury criticism risks the kind of false description Article 17 bans, so ask a lawyer before going anywhere near it.
ADGM firms follow their own data rules
Firms registered in Abu Dhabi Global Market on Al Maryah Island sit under a separate data regime. ADGM says its Data Protection Regulations 2021 apply to all entities established in ADGM. Its Office of Data Protection is the independent supervisory authority. The Commissioner of Data Protection administers the rules.
ADGM’s guide to data subject rights says a person can ask for their personal data to be erased, subject to conditions. They should first write to the organisation. If that does not settle it, they can go to the Commissioner within two months of their last meaningful contact with the organisation. For an ADGM firm, a reply to a review that shares a client’s details is a data protection problem as well as a platform one. In review removal Abu Dhabi cases for ADGM firms, keep client details out of every reply. Mainland businesses fall under the federal personal data law covered on our Dubai page.
Abu Dhabi has its own courts
The UAE government portal says the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Dubai Courts and RAK Courts maintain their own independent judicial departments. So if a review removal Abu Dhabi case ever becomes a court matter, it is a question for a lawyer who handles cases in Abu Dhabi, not one who only knows Dubai Courts. Our defamation removal page explains when the legal route is worth it.
This table matches common review removal Abu Dhabi problems to the body that actually decides them.
| Problem | Route | Who decides |
|---|---|---|
| A fake or rule breaking review | A report on the platform, with evidence | The platform |
| Threats, a slander campaign or private photos | Abu Dhabi Police Aman service or the MoI eCrimes platform, ideally with a lawyer | Police and prosecutors |
| A customer’s complaint about goods or services | The ADDED Consumer Protection Section | ADDED |
| An ADGM firm mishandled someone’s personal data | Write to the firm, then the ADGM Office of Data Protection within two months | The Commissioner of Data Protection |
| A civil claim over serious harm | A lawyer who handles cases in Abu Dhabi | The Abu Dhabi courts |
Arabic and English reviews in the capital
Abu Dhabi reviews arrive in Arabic, English and many other languages. Platform rules do not change with the language, but the moderator has to see the breach quickly. Three habits help in review removal Abu Dhabi cases. Quote the original words exactly. Put a plain English translation beside them. Write names exactly as the reviewer did, because transliteration can turn one name into three spellings. Then reply in the language the guest used. A calm reply in Arabic to an Arabic review reads as respect, not a template.
A worked example: a family restaurant in Khalidiyah
This is a made up example to show the steps. It is not a client case.
Here is how a review removal Abu Dhabi case can play out. A family restaurant in Khalidiyah sells in the dining room and through talabat. In one week three reviews appear. The first is an Arabic Google review that calls the owner a thief and gives no detail. The second is a talabat review about a late delivery and cold rice. The third is a Tripadvisor review from a profile that, the same week, praised the restaurant next door and appears to belong to its manager.
| Review | Rule it may break | What the owner does |
|---|---|---|
| Arabic Google review calling the owner a thief | Google offensive content: unsubstantiated allegations of criminal wrongdoing | Reports it with إبلاغ. Quotes the Arabic words with an English translation beside them |
| talabat review about a late delivery | Probably none. It reads as a genuine experience | Leaves it up. Replies politely and checks the order record |
| Tripadvisor review from the rival’s manager | Tripadvisor fraud: owners and their agents reviewing direct competitors | Uses the Report problem with review flag. Saves screenshots of the profile’s other reviews |
The owner’s first instinct is to reply to the Google review and call the writer a liar. He stops, because Article 43 makes insults through an information network an offence and the reply would carry his name. He posts a short, polite line instead. Removal Lab files the Google and Tripadvisor reports and keeps Google’s one time appeal in reserve. If a platform agrees a rule was broken, the review comes down and the restaurant pays then. If not, it owes nothing. That is review removal Abu Dhabi work done quietly and by the rules.
Which Abu Dhabi reviews stay up
- Genuine delivery complaints. A late rider or a cold dish is a real experience.
- Reviews you simply disagree with. Google says not to report a review just because you disagree with it or dislike it.
- Harsh but honest hotel reviews. Tripadvisor treats pressure to remove a negative review as fraud, so never trade an upgrade for an edit.
- Reviews in Arabic or any other language. Language alone is not a reason any of these platforms gives for removal.
We will not try to remove negative reviews UAE customers wrote honestly. Fake review removal UAE businesses ask us for is a different job. Our fake review removal page explains the evidence platforms look for. Honest review removal Abu Dhabi advice includes telling you when to answer a review well instead. Our page on what we cannot remove lists the cases we turn down.

talabat says reviews are moderated and come from customers rating a previous order. Its FAQ does not describe a dispute route for restaurants, so raise a rule breaking review with talabat directly.
