Complaintsboard removal with Removal Lab

Written by the Removal Lab team.

Searched your company name and found a ComplaintsBoard post calling you a scam, sitting right under your own website? ComplaintsBoard removal is rare: the site says it removes complaints only with a signed court order or when a post breaks its Complaint Guidelines. It never removes them for money. Removal Lab checks your post against those rules for free and tells you honestly which route is real.

A specialist reads the complaint and replies within one business day. On qualifying cases there is no upfront payment. You pay only when the content is removed. Removal Lab does not work for ComplaintsBoard and cannot delete anything itself. ComplaintsBoard makes every decision.

Every ComplaintsBoard removal rule on this page comes from the site’s own FAQ, Terms of Use, DMCA page and Legal Information page, plus Google’s help pages and US law. We could open all of them. The links are at the end.

Short answer

ComplaintsBoard removal works through a few narrow doors: a report for a post that breaks the Complaint Guidelines, an edit for personal information, a DMCA notice for copied material or an officially signed court order. Resolved complaints stay up but stop counting towards your rating. Nobody can pay to remove a complaint. ComplaintsBoard says reputation companies cannot either.

How ComplaintsBoard removal works

ComplaintsBoard is a free public complaint site. Its Terms of Use say it does not edit or censor posted messages or investigate them for accuracy. It reserves the right, without any obligation, to delete profanity, obscenities and threats of physical violence. It also says an AI tool corrects grammar and style in posts without changing their meaning.

The same Terms say it is a free site for everyone, including consumers and businesses. They add that it will remove a posted message when a court instructs it to. Its FAQ goes further for businesses. It does not remove complaints unless it receives an officially signed court order. It also does not remove reviews solely because a business says they are false.

So ComplaintsBoard removal is not a negotiation and not a purchase. It is a narrow set of routes, each tied to a written rule. The job is to find out which route, if any, fits your post before you spend time or money on it.

Which ComplaintsBoard posts can be removed or edited

These are the problems ComplaintsBoard’s own pages name, with the route each one points to. ComplaintsBoard removal decisions are made by ComplaintsBoard alone.

Problem in the postComplaintsBoard ruleRealistic route
Profanity, obscenity or threats of physical violenceThe Terms reserve the right to delete themReport it from your claimed business account
Defamation, harassment, stalking or threatsThe Terms ban users from posting defamatory material and from harassing or threatening othersReport it. For false statements of fact, speak to a lawyer about a court order
Your staff’s full names, phone numbers or home addressThe complaint form asks posters not to post other people’s personal information or full namesReport it. ComplaintsBoard hides or edits sensitive data rather than deleting the complaint

Advertising or sellingThe Terms ban advertising or offering goods or servicesReport it from your claimed business account
A post a court has found unlawfulIts FAQ says it removes complaints on an officially signed court orderYour lawyer sends the order

Notice what is missing from that table: a complaint that is unfair, one sided or angry. A post can hurt and still sit inside the rules. No ComplaintsBoard removal request will change that. Our what we cannot remove page explains why we say no to those cases.

What ComplaintsBoard will not remove

ComplaintsBoard’s FAQ is unusually direct about the requests it refuses. Knowing them saves a wasted ComplaintsBoard removal request.

How to remove a ComplaintsBoard complaint or report it yourself

ComplaintsBoard does not publish a button by button guide, so these steps follow exactly what its FAQ and contact pages say. If you want to remove ComplaintsBoard complaints about your business, this is the route the site itself sets out.

  1. Claim your business account. Use the Claim Your Business page and submit a request for verification. It is free. Only company representatives can claim a profile, because ComplaintsBoard does not give third parties access.
  2. Save the post. Take a screenshot and copy the link, the date shown and the exact words that break a rule.
  3. Match it to a written rule. Name the clause: profanity, threats, defamation, harassment, personal information, advertising or blackmail. Every ComplaintsBoard removal report needs one.
  4. Report it from your business account. The FAQ says a business account lets you report reviews you think violate the Complaint Guidelines, with supporting evidence. Its FAQ does not name the button.
  5. Fix wrong business details by email. The FAQ says there is no in system way to flag wrong profile information. Email support@complaintsboard.com marked “irrelevant information”.
  6. Reply in public. After claiming, post a calm official response under the complaint. The FAQ says you may say a review is false, as long as you stay polite.
  7. Keep a record. Note what you sent, when and what you attached.

Keep the report short. Quote the sentence that breaks the rule, name the rule and attach the proof. Two clear lines beat two pages of anger.

The official reply and ComplaintsBoard’s seven day rule

This is the part most businesses miss. Strictly, it is not ComplaintsBoard removal at all. ComplaintsBoard gives the reviewer 7 days to answer after an official company response. Its FAQ says that if the reviewer fails to respond within 7 days, the complaint is marked resolved automatically and cannot be reinstated.

A resolved complaint is not removed. It stays visible, but ComplaintsBoard says it no longer affects the company’s rating. For many businesses that is the most realistic outcome on this site.

There are firm limits. Companies must not pressure reviewers to close or remove complaints. They must not promise to fix a problem in exchange for removal. Only a claimed business account can message a customer directly. Treat the reply as customer service, not as a removal tactic.

Personal information

The complaint form tells posters not to post other people’s personal information or full names. If a post shows a staff member’s phone number or home address, report it. ComplaintsBoard hides or edits sensitive data rather than deleting the whole complaint.

Google is a second route for contact details. Google’s personal information policy lists addresses, phone numbers and email addresses among the details you can ask it to remove from Search. Google says it can only remove things from Google Search, so the post stays on ComplaintsBoard. Our guide to removing personal information from Google walks through the form.

Copyright

If the post copies your photos or text, the DMCA page sets out the notice. It must be in writing and include a signature, the work you own, the material you say infringes, your contact details, a good faith statement and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorised. Notices go to the Copyright Agent at support@complaintsboard.com. The page says only DMCA notices should go there. A poster can send a counter notice, after which ComplaintsBoard says the content may be restored in 10 to 14 business days or more.

Court orders

ComplaintsBoard’s FAQ says it removes complaints when it receives an officially signed court order. It does not say what kind of order or where to send it. The only general contact it lists is support@complaintsboard.com.

Its Legal Information page says ComplaintsBoard is not legally responsible for posted complaints and that the Communications Decency Act protects it. It adds that the law does not protect the person who posted. In the US, 47 U.S.C. 230(c)(1) says no provider of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of information provided by someone else. That is why legal action usually targets the poster, not the site. Our defamation removal page explains how that route works. This page is general information, not legal advice.

What evidence helps a ComplaintsBoard removal request

Good evidence proves a rule break quickly and makes a ComplaintsBoard removal report easy to assess. It should never add more personal data to the problem.

ProblemEvidence that helpsLeave out
Threats or abuseA screenshot, the link and the exact wordsYour opinion of the reviewer
BlackmailThe message demanding payment and its dateAny reply offering money
Staff personal detailsA screenshot and the staff member’s confirmationMore personal details
Copied photos or textYour original file, where you first published it and the dateGuesses about who copied it
Advertising or spamThe link and the promotional textComplaints about competitors
A false statement of factRecords that disprove it, reviewed by your lawyerThreats to sue

How long ComplaintsBoard removal takes

ComplaintsBoard does not publish a timeframe for reviewing reports. The only fixed periods on its pages are the 7 days a reviewer has to answer an official reply and the 10 to 14 business days or more before content may be restored after a DMCA counter notice. Anyone who promises a fixed ComplaintsBoard removal date is guessing. Removal Lab replies to your free case check within one business day.

What to do if ComplaintsBoard says no

A refused ComplaintsBoard removal request is common. Here is what still helps:

  1. Reply in public, calmly. A short, factual official response shows readers your side. ComplaintsBoard encourages it.
  2. Solve the problem if it is real. A genuine fix is the honest way to move a complaint to resolved.
  3. Use Google where it applies. Personal contact details and unlawful content can be reported to Google. See Google legal removal requests.
  4. Speak to a lawyer about false statements. A signed court order is the route ComplaintsBoard names.
  5. Never pay, threaten or pressure. Paying a reviewer, or making unfounded legal threats, can break the rules covered below.
  6. Build honest reviews elsewhere. Real feedback from real customers gives one complaint less weight in search.

US law notes for ComplaintsBoard removal

Three US rules shape every ComplaintsBoard removal case:

If your business is in the UK, our UK review removal page covers the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act and defamation rules there.

ComplaintsBoard, Ripoff Report and other complaint sites

People also search for complaint board removal or complaints board review removal. It is the same site with the same rules. Complaint sites differ a lot, so a ComplaintsBoard removal plan will not work everywhere.

Ripoff Report has its own rules, covered on our Ripoff Report removal page. PissedConsumer runs a paid arbitration route, covered on PissedConsumer review removal. Sitejabber, now SmartCustomer, lets businesses request reviewer verification, covered on Sitejabber review removal. How Removal Lab helps with ComplaintsBoard removal

We start with a free, confidential check. Send the link through our case review form and a specialist replies within one business day. We look at:

Here is the honest part. ComplaintsBoard does not give third parties access to business accounts and says reputation companies cannot remove complaints. We agree that nobody can buy a removal. So we prepare the ComplaintsBoard removal report and evidence with you. You then file it from your own claimed account. Where a court order is the only route, we tell you and suggest you speak to a lawyer.

On qualifying cases there is no upfront payment. You pay only when the content is removed. Our review removal cost guide explains how pricing works across the industry. Our business review removal page covers the wider service. If you suspect the complaint is fake, see fake review removal.

How Removal Lab works

  1. Send the link. WhatsApp, email or the two field form. Two minutes, no long questionnaire.
  2. Free policy check. A specialist reads it against the platform rules and tells you honestly whether it qualifies.
  3. We build and file the case. The right policy, the right channel, the evidence attached. We handle the appeal too.
  4. Pay only when it is gone. No upfront payment on qualifying cases. If the platform says no, you owe nothing.

What we will never do

A worked example: the complaint with a phone number in it

This is a made up example to show the steps. It is not a client case.

A Toronto moving company finds a ComplaintsBoard post calling it a scam. The post names a driver in full and lists his mobile number. It also says the company stole a sofa, which the company’s signed inventory shows was never on the truck.

  1. Free check. The driver’s name and number break the rule on other people’s personal information. The theft claim is a disputed fact, not a guideline breach.
  2. Claim. The owner claims the business account through the Claim Your Business page.
  3. Report. A two line report from the business account quotes the number and asks for it to be hidden.
  4. Google. The driver files Google’s personal information form for his number.
  5. Reply. A calm official response says the inventory was signed and offers to talk privately.

If ComplaintsBoard hid the number, the complaint would stay with the personal data gone. If the reviewer did not answer the reply within 7 days, it would be marked resolved and stop counting towards the rating. That is honest ComplaintsBoard removal work: the rules first, no promises.

Frequently asked questions

Will ComplaintsBoard remove a complaint if I ask?

No. ComplaintsBoard’s business FAQ says it does not remove complaints unless it receives an officially signed court order. The other ComplaintsBoard removal route is a report from a claimed business account for a post that breaks its Complaint Guidelines.

Can I pay ComplaintsBoard to remove a complaint?

No. Its FAQ answers that question with “Absolutely not” and says businesses cannot pay to have reviews removed. Claiming and managing a business account is free.

Can a reputation company remove a ComplaintsBoard complaint?

ComplaintsBoard says claims by reputation management companies to remove complaints are false and that it does not give third parties access to business accounts. Removal Lab agrees that nobody can buy a removal. We check the post against the rules and prepare a report that you file from your own account.

Can the person who posted delete their ComplaintsBoard complaint?

No. The Terms of Use say a post cannot be deleted even at the poster’s request. If the poster deletes their account, the complaints stay up under a default nickname.

Does marking a complaint resolved remove it?

No. ComplaintsBoard keeps resolved complaints on the site, but its FAQ says they no longer affect the company’s rating.

What happens if the reviewer ignores my official reply?

ComplaintsBoard says that if the reviewer does not respond within 7 days of an official company response, the complaint is marked resolved automatically. Companies must not pressure reviewers to close or remove complaints.

Can ComplaintsBoard remove my personal information from a complaint?

Yes, by editing rather than deleting. ComplaintsBoard hides sensitive data and lets the poster ask for edits, but it does not remove the whole complaint for that reason.

Does a court order work on ComplaintsBoard?

Its FAQ says an officially signed court order is the one route to removing a complaint. It does not publish what kind of order it needs, so speak to a lawyer before you start.

Is ComplaintsBoard responsible for what people post?

ComplaintsBoard’s Legal Information page says it is not legally responsible for posted complaints and points to the Communications Decency Act. In the US, Section 230 says a site is not treated as the publisher of content provided by someone else.

Can Google remove a ComplaintsBoard page from search?

Only in narrow cases, such as a page that shows your personal contact details or breaks the law. Google says it can only remove things from Google Search, so the post stays on ComplaintsBoard.

Does Removal Lab charge for ComplaintsBoard removal?

The case check is free. On qualifying cases there is no upfront payment and you pay only when the content is removed. ComplaintsBoard itself charges nothing to claim an account or report a post.

How long does ComplaintsBoard removal take?

ComplaintsBoard does not publish a timeframe for reports. Removal Lab replies to your free case check within one business day.
