Arrests.org mugshot removal with Removal Lab

Written by the Removal Lab team.

Searched your own name and found your booking photo on Arrests.org? Arrests.org mugshot removal usually starts with three free routes: a request to the site, the state law that covers paid mugshot sites and Google’s own removal tools. Removal Lab checks your links for free, tells you which route fits and files the requests, with no upfront payment on qualifying cases. The site and Google decide, not us.

An arrest is not a conviction. Many people on mugshot sites were never charged, were cleared or moved on long ago. You do not owe anyone an explanation for wanting the photo gone. This page sets out every Arrests.org mugshot removal route, in order. Every rule comes from the law itself or an official help page and the links are at the end.

Short answer: Arrests.org mugshot removal

1. Arrests.org blocked our reader, so we could not check its own removal pages. Look for a removal or contact link on your listing and keep every confirmation.
2. Do not pay before you check your state law. Several states ban removal fees or set a deadline for free removal.
3. If a site demands payment, Google may drop those pages from its results.
4. Once a page is gone, ask Google to refresh the old result.
5. Sealing or expungement is the strongest long term fix. Speak to a lawyer about it.

What we could verify about Arrests.org mugshot removal

We tried to open Arrests.org for this page. Its pages did not load for our reader, so we cannot quote its removal process, its terms or whether it asks for money. We will not guess at the Arrests.org removal process. Be wary of anyone who claims to know it without showing you the page.

Arrests.org mugshot removal does not depend only on the site. State laws, Google’s policies and a court order work whatever the site says. If your listing shows a removal or contact link, try it first. Share the least personal information the form needs. If it asks for an ID, cover the ID number, address and barcode where the form allows it.

Screenshot any page that asks for payment, with the web address visible. That screenshot is the key evidence for Google’s policy on sites that charge for removal and for the state laws below.

How to remove a mugshot from Arrests.org step by step

People often search “remove mugshot from Arrests.org” and land on paid offers first. Here is the order we follow for Arrests.org mugshot removal. You can follow it yourself.

  1. List every copy. Search your name on Google and Google Images, with and without your middle name and town. Copy each web address into one list, including any copies on other sites.
  2. Save the evidence. Screenshot each page with its address visible. Screenshot any fee, price or pay to remove offer.
  3. Gather your court papers. If the charge was dropped, dismissed, not prosecuted, ended in an acquittal or was sealed or expunged, find the paperwork. Several state laws give faster or free removal when you can show it.
  4. Use the site’s own route. If your listing has a removal or contact link, start your Arrests.org mugshot removal there. Keep the confirmation screen and any email you receive.
  5. Send a state law request if one applies. Follow the delivery rule to the letter. Florida asks for registered mail. Georgia accepts certified mail with a return receipt or statutory overnight delivery.
  6. Use Google for what is still live. File the Google requests that fit, explained below.
  7. Refresh Google. Once a page is removed or changed, ask Google to update its result.
  8. Check again. Search your name again after a few weeks. Booking photos get copied, so new pages can appear.

Please speak to a lawyer

This page is general information, not legal advice. Sealing, expungement and the state laws on mugshot sites have detailed rules that change from state to state. A lawyer, a legal aid office or your court’s self help centre can tell you what applies to your case.

Which state’s law reaches a particular website is itself a legal question, so ask before you rely on one for Arrests.org mugshot removal. In Georgia, the Attorney General’s page says you can complain to its Consumer Protection Division if a site charges or misses the 30 day deadline. Our guide to the real cost of mugshot removal has more on fees.

Google routes for Arrests.org mugshot removal

Google cannot delete a page from Arrests.org. It can change what people see when they search your name. Three Google routes matter.

Sites that charge to remove content

Google has a policy for sites with exploitative removal practices. It says it may remove a page from its results only when all three of these are true: you are a subject of the content, the site is not a business review site and the site requires payment to the site or other agencies to remove the content.

Select Start removal request on Google’s help page for this policy. Give the web addresses of the pages that mention you, since Google reviews only those. Explain how the site is exploitative and attach screenshots. Google says you can edit the screenshots so only your face shows. A representative can file the request for you.

Results about you

Google’s Results about you tool looks for pages that show your home address, phone number or email. From the tool, open the To review tab, select a result and choose Request to remove. You can also select More next to a search result, then Remove result.

Sometimes Google removes a page only for searches that contain your name. Google says it considers some results valuable to the public, such as government sites and newspapers. It often turns down requests for those. Google also says some features are still rolling out to adults in certain markets. See how to use Google Results about you.

Refresh outdated content

The last step of Arrests.org mugshot removal is often a refresh, because Google can keep the old result for a while after a site removes your photo. Google’s Refresh outdated content tool is for pages or images that no longer exist or have changed a lot. You must be signed in to a Google Account. Enter the address and select Submit. A pending request can take a few days. For images, Google asks for a separate request for each page where the image appears. Our guide to the refresh tool walks through it.

If a listing shows an ID number or other private details, Google’s personal information policy may also apply. See how to remove personal information from Google and how to remove images from Google.

Expungement and sealing: the long term fix

A website request removes one copy. A court order changes the record behind every copy. That is why sealing or expungement is the strongest step in any Arrests.org mugshot removal plan, if you qualify.

It is not automatic, though. Florida’s law enforcement agency, FDLE, says that once a record is sealed or expunged the public will not have access to it. It also says arrest data on privately run websites is not subject to an expungement order, that it has no regulatory authority over those companies and that you need to contact them directly. The final decision to seal or expunge sits with the court.

Names and rules change from state to state. California’s court self help site says true expungement does not exist in California, although there may be other ways to clean your record. It suggests getting legal help because the law is complicated. Once you have an order, send a copy with each website request. Utah and Oregon give you a free 7 day removal route when you can show the outcome. Our court record removal page covers the court files themselves.

What Removal Lab can and cannot do for Arrests.org mugshot removal

What we can do. Map every copy of your mugshot, check each one against the site’s own process, the state laws above and Google’s rules and tell you honestly which routes fit. We prepare and file the requests, follow up and refresh Google once a page comes down. The check is free and confidential. On qualifying cases there is no upfront payment and you pay only when the content is removed.

What we cannot do. We do not work for Arrests.org or Google and cannot delete anything ourselves. We cannot change a court record, give legal advice or promise any outcome. We never pay a site to take a photo down. See what we cannot remove and pricing.

A worked example

This is a made up example to show the steps. It is not a client case.

A woman finds her booking photo on a mugshot site that shows a pay to remove offer. The charge was dropped. She screenshots the offer, files a Google request under its policy on exploitative removal practices and sends the site a written request with her dismissal paperwork, following her state’s delivery rule. When the page comes down, she asks Google to refresh the old result. She then speaks to a lawyer about sealing the record.

How Removal Lab works

Frequently asked questions

How does Arrests.org mugshot removal work?

Start with any removal or contact route the site offers and keep every confirmation. If that fails, check whether your state has a mugshot law, ask Google to drop pages from a site that demands payment and refresh Google once the page is gone. Removal Lab can check your links for free.

Is Arrests.org mugshot removal free?

Arrests.org blocked our reader, so we could not confirm whether it charges. Several states ban removal fees outright and Utah and Oregon cap the fee for a standard request at $50, so check your state law before you pay anything.

Can Google remove an Arrests.org page from search results?

Google says it may remove a page from search results when you are the subject, the site is not a business review site and the site requires payment to remove the content. It also has tools for pages that show your home address, phone number or email.

Does expungement remove my mugshot from Arrests.org automatically?

No. Florida’s law enforcement agency says private websites are not subject to an expungement order and that you need to contact them directly. A sealing or expungement order is still strong evidence to send with your request.

Which states ban mugshot sites from charging for removal?

Of the laws we read, California and Florida ban removal fees, Georgia requires free removal for qualifying cases and Illinois bans fees for removing criminal record information. Utah and Oregon cap the fee at $50 for a standard request and require free removal within seven days after an acquittal or similar outcome.

How long does Arrests.org mugshot removal take?

Arrests.org did not load for our check, so we cannot quote a timeline. State laws set deadlines, such as 10 calendar days in Florida and 30 days in Georgia after a proper written request.

Should I pay for Arrests.org mugshot removal?

Check your state law and Google’s policy first. Paying one site does nothing about copies on other sites and in some states the fee itself is unlawful.

What if the mugshot on Arrests.org is not me?

Send the site proof that the details do not match, such as a different date of birth, shared only with the site. Raise a mistaken identity first in any Arrests.org mugshot removal request. Removal Lab can help you word the request so you share as little personal information as possible.

Can I remove my mugshot from Google Images?

Yes, in some cases. Arrests.org mugshot removal from Google Images follows the same Google policies and the Refresh outdated content tool takes a separate request for each page where an image appears once the source has changed.

Can Removal Lab delete my Arrests.org listing?

No. Removal Lab does not work for Arrests.org or Google and cannot delete anything itself. For Arrests.org mugshot removal we check your case for free, file the requests that fit and on qualifying cases you pay only when the content is removed.

Do I need a lawyer for Arrests.org mugshot removal?

Not for a website or Google request. You should speak to a lawyer about sealing or expungement and before you rely on a state mugshot law.
