Review removal Seattle with Removal Lab

Written by the Removal Lab team.

Did your Ballard roofing company pick up three one star Google reviews in one afternoon from accounts that had just praised a rival? Review removal Seattle businesses can rely on runs through each platform’s own rules: Removal Lab checks every review for free and, when one breaks those rules, files the report with the evidence attached.

Honest reviews stay up, even blunt ones. Fake reviews, reviews from competitors and reviews that publish private details can be reported. A specialist replies within one business day. There is no upfront payment on qualifying cases.

Removal Lab has no Seattle office. Our offices are in Toronto and New York and we serve Seattle remotely. This page covers the platforms that matter most for review removal Seattle cases: Google for almost everyone, Angi and Nextdoor for home services, Amazon for online sellers and Yelp for cafés and restaurants. It also covers a Washington law every business owner here should know before thinking about suing a reviewer.

Review removal Seattle in one minute

Report fake and rule breaking reviews to the platform. Do not sue over honest ones. Washington’s Uniform Public Expression Protection Act expressly reaches lawsuits about reviews or ratings of businesses. A business that loses the reviewer’s special motion can be ordered to pay the reviewer’s costs and legal fees.

Google review removal Seattle: spotting fake engagement

In Google review removal Seattle cases, look for patterns as well as single reviews. Google’s fake engagement rules bar reviews that are paid for, directly or in kind. They also bar content posted from several accounts by or at the request of one person. Its conflict of interest rules bar posting on a competitor’s place to undermine it. Businesses may not offer incentives for any review, discourage negative reviews or ask only happy customers for reviews.

Three signs suggest a pattern worth reporting: reviews arriving close together, accounts that also reviewed a competitor the same day and reviewer names that match nobody in your job records. You run the checks on your own records and tell us what you found. Our guide to a fake Google review from a competitor covers the evidence in detail.

How to report a Google review yourself

  1. Go to your Business Profile and select Read reviews.
  2. Next to the review, select the Report icon.
  3. Choose the reason that matches the broken rule, such as Spam.
  4. Select Send report.
  5. Track it in the Reviews Management Tool. If Google finds no violation, each review can have one appeal, with up to 10 reviews in one appeal.

Google says evaluation typically takes several days. Google review removal Seattle cases follow this same route. What makes the difference is the right reason and the evidence ready. Our Google review removal service page shows how we build those reports.

Home services: Angi and Nextdoor

Roofers, plumbers, painters and remodellers often find work through Angi and Nextdoor. For review removal Seattle cases in the trades, those two sites work very differently from Google.

Angi

Angi says a reviewer needs an Angi account. Companies cannot rate themselves. Reviewers must confirm they are not affiliated with or in competition with the business. Angi does not accept anonymous reviews: the provider can see the name and address of the person who rated them. Its guidelines ask reviewers not to discuss other service professionals or unrelated matters and not to publish anyone’s private information. If a dispute arises between a customer and a pro, Angi says the rating may be held in pending status until it is resolved. It also says businesses cannot remove their names to hide poor ratings.

Because Angi shows you who wrote a review, the first step in review removal Seattle cases for trades is simple: check the name against your job records. Do the check privately and never post what you find. Our Angi review removal page has the full route. Our page on review removal for contractors covers other trade sites.

Nextdoor

For review removal Seattle cases on Nextdoor, start with how it checks members. Nextdoor says every member goes through a registration process to confirm they live where they say they do. When a member reports a post, volunteer moderators from the community vote on whether it breaks the Community Guidelines. Reports of misinformation or racism go straight to Nextdoor’s trained staff. Nextdoor encourages businesses to reply to recommendations, good and bad, from their business page. A Nextdoor thread about your company is a post, not a review, so the route is different. Our Nextdoor post removal page explains it.

Amazon sellers in Amazon’s home city

Amazon’s corporate headquarters is in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighbourhood. If you sell there, review removal Seattle work follows Amazon’s own seller rules. Amazon tells sellers not to try to influence customer ratings, feedback or reviews. Sellers must not ask customers to remove negative reviews or to post positive ones. They cannot edit reviews. To report a review that breaks Amazon’s community guidelines, go to the product detail page, select Show Review Details and then Report. Amazon says it will remove reviews that violate its policies.

Amazon’s Customer Reviews tool lets a seller contact a customer who left a review below three stars to offer a full courtesy refund or support. That offer must never be tied to changing the review. Under the FTC rule at 16 CFR 465.4, a business may not reward reviews that must be positive or negative. Amazon says it has a zero tolerance policy for reviews designed to mislead customers and that it took legal action against more than 150 bad actors in a single year. Our pages on Amazon review removal and review removal for ecommerce brands go further.

Cafés and restaurants: Yelp in Seattle

A coffee shop on Capitol Hill is judged on Yelp as well as Google, so review removal Seattle cases for cafés often involve both. Yelp tells businesses not to ask anyone for reviews, because its software may not recommend solicited ones. It also says not to offer freebies, discounts or payment for reviews. You cannot offer incentives for users to remove reviews either. When you report a review that breaks Yelp’s Content Guidelines, include any information that helps Yelp verify the problem. Yelp says it does not take sides in factual disputes.

Our review removal San Francisco page covers Yelp’s recommendation software, Consumer Alerts and review storms in more depth. For the full route, see Yelp review removal.

Washington law behind review removal Seattle cases

The Uniform Public Expression Protection Act, RCW 4.105

Washington’s version of an anti SLAPP law matters in review removal Seattle cases because it is broad. Under RCW 4.105.010, it applies to civil actions based on communication in a government proceeding, communication on an issue under government review or the exercise of free speech, press, assembly, petition or association on a matter of public concern.

The Act exempts some claims, including claims against a business about communications on its own sales and claims under Washington’s Consumer Protection Act. But it then brings back any action related to consumer opinions or commentary, evaluations of consumer complaints or reviews or ratings of businesses. In plain words, the Act names reviews and ratings of businesses expressly.

SectionWhat it saysWhat it means for you
RCW 4.105.020A party may file a special motion for expedited relief within sixty days of being served, or later on good causeA reviewer you sue can ask the court to throw the claim out early
RCW 4.105.030All other proceedings between the parties, including discovery, are stayed until the court rules and the time to appeal runs outDiscovery between you and the reviewer stops while the motion is decided
RCW 4.105.090The court shall award costs, reasonable attorneys’ fees and litigation expenses to the moving party if it wins. The other side gets them only if the motion was not substantially justified or was filed solely to delayLose the motion and you may pay the reviewer’s legal bills

So in review removal Seattle work, a lawsuit against a customer over a review is almost never the first step. Removal Lab is not a law firm and never threatens reviewers. If a review may be defamatory, speak to a Washington lawyer first. Our defamation removal page explains when that route is worth paying for. Separately, the FTC rule at 16 CFR 465.7(a) bans groundless legal threats and intimidation used to stop a review or get it removed.

The Consumer Protection Act and the Attorney General

RCW 19.86.020 declares unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts in trade or commerce unlawful. Customers can file a complaint with the Washington Attorney General’s Office, which describes its service as informal complaint resolution. If a complaint falls within its remit, the office sends it to the business, asks for a response and asks businesses to reply within 30 days. The office says it cannot act as an individual consumer’s lawyer or force a firm to resolve a complaint.

For review removal Seattle clients the lesson is practical. If the Attorney General’s Office forwards a complaint, answer it on time. It is not a review and no platform report touches it.

Fake review removal Washington businesses can use

For fake review removal Washington businesses rely on platform rules and the FTC’s rule on consumer reviews and testimonials, 16 CFR Part 465. Under section 465.2, nobody may write, create or sell fake reviews. A business may not buy them when it knew or should have known they were fake. The FTC says the rule lets it seek civil penalties against knowing violators. In review removal Seattle cases we never answer fake reviews with fake praise, because the same rule would apply to you. Our fake review removal page lists the evidence platforms look for.

Pacific time and how we work with Seattle clients

Seattle is in the Pacific zone, the part of the continental US west of the line federal rules set for it. Federal law puts standard time in that zone eight hours behind UTC and Eastern standard time five hours behind. Removal Lab’s offices are at 122 E 42nd St in New York and 100 King St W in Toronto, so 8am in Seattle is 11am for our New York team. Seattle and New York both move their clocks on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November, so the gap stays three hours all year.

That gap works in favour of review removal Seattle clients. Send the links and screenshots by WhatsApp or email first thing and a specialist is already well into the working day. Most review removal Seattle cases need no call at all. Replies come within one business day.

A worked example: a Ballard roofing company

This is a made up example to show the steps. It is not a client case.

Here is how a review removal Seattle case can play out. A roofing company in Ballard notices four reviews in a fortnight after weeks with none.

ReviewRule it may breakWhat the company does
Three Google reviews posted within an hour, from accounts that each gave five stars to a rival roofer in Fremont the same dayGoogle bars posting on a competitor’s place to undermine it and content from several accounts run by one personScreenshots of each account’s other reviews. A private check that no name matches a job
A Google review that gives the owner’s home street and tells people to go thereGoogle bars another person’s personal information posted without consent and specific threats of harmReport it with the matching reason. Nothing is repeated in a public reply
An Angi review from someone whose name and address match no job the company has doneAngi reviewers must confirm they are not affiliated with or competing with the businessRaise it with Angi, with the job records checked privately
A genuine Angi review saying the crew arrived two days lateNone. It is an honest experienceNo report. A short reply with the facts and an apology

Removal Lab files the Google reports and keeps the one time appeal in reserve. The Angi question goes to Angi. The late arrival review stays and the reply does the work. If a platform agrees a rule was broken and a review comes down, the company pays for that one. If not, it owes nothing. That is review removal Seattle work done by the rules.

Can you remove negative reviews Seattle customers posted?

Only the ones that break a platform’s rules. If you want to remove negative reviews Seattle customers posted about a real job, a real coffee or a real order, no honest service can do that. These usually stay:

Frequently asked questions

Can Removal Lab get a Google review removed for a Seattle business?

Only Google can remove a Google review. Removal Lab checks it against Google policy for free and, when it breaks a rule, builds and files the report. You pay only if it is removed.

Can I sue a customer in Washington over a bad review?

You can file, but Washington’s Uniform Public Expression Protection Act expressly covers lawsuits about reviews or ratings of businesses. The reviewer can file a special motion within sixty days that pauses the case. If the motion succeeds, the court awards the reviewer costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees.

Can a Seattle Amazon seller ask a buyer to remove a negative review?

No. Amazon tells sellers not to ask customers to remove negative reviews or post positive ones. A seller can report a review that breaks Amazon’s guidelines with Show Review Details and then Report.

Can a competitor review my business on Angi?

Angi says reviewers must confirm they are not affiliated with or in competition with the business. Companies cannot rate themselves either.

What is fake review removal Washington businesses can use?

The platform’s own rules plus the FTC rule at 16 CFR Part 465, which bans writing, selling or knowingly buying fake reviews. Removal Lab reports fake reviews to the platform with the evidence attached.

Does review removal Seattle work cost anything upfront?

Nothing on qualifying cases. The case review is free and you pay only when the content is removed.

What time zone does Removal Lab work in for Seattle clients?
